Among the latest in the famed-and-fabulous “Dummies” series from Wiley Publishing is the 6th Edition of HTML, XHTML & CSS for Dummies by Ed Tittel and Jeff Noble. SheTech and Company is proud to be part of this project in the form of hosting provider and content manager for the companion web site, which can now be found at http://www.edtittel.com/html4d6e/.The book is an updated look at HTML and XHTML, the late-entry successor to the long-lasting HTML code, and throws in a great introduction to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) — a concept of which we at SheTech and Company are quite fond: the sites we design and build here are styled almost exclusively with CSS, which drives the visual styles for both regular web sites and those driven by Content Management Systems (including this one)and eCommerce/shopping sites.
The companion site offers live looks at the code samples offered in the books, as well as the code samples themselves. The site will continue to expand its offerings, soon making a community forum available for readers to pose questions and offer suggestions.
We are pleased to be part of this excellent project, and hope you take advantage of both the book and the site — each one is a great introduction to creating and designing Web pages, and taken together are a terrific resource for understanding the World Wide Web.
